Tobit Flatscher

Robotics Software Engineer

Tobit received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees (with distinction) in mechanical and computational engineering from Graz University of Technology (Austria). Prior to joining Oxford Robotics Institute as a robotics software engineer in January 2023, he worked on developing simulation research codes for computational fluid mechanics based on the lattice-Boltzmann method (Graz University of Technology, 2018-2019) and as a research associate in robotics at Fraunhofer Italia, working on applied research projects, mainly for North Italian industrial clients (2020-2023).

His expertise includes containerised development with Docker and test-driven software development with C++, ROS and ROS 2. In his spare time, he works on his personal robotic projects, enjoys taking pictures with his DSLR, and hiking, especially at his birthplace in the Italian Dolomites.
