Alex Schutz

Student - GOALS

Alex is a DPhil student at Kellogg College and a General Sir John Monash Scholar. They joined the ORI in 2023 as part of the GOALS group supervised by Prof. Nick Hawes, researching multi-agent planning under uncertainty.

Alex holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechatronic Engineering and a Bachelor's degree in Pure Mathematics, both achieved in 2020 at the University of Adelaide. They completed their honours thesis in the areas of machine learning and optimisation, in partnership with MaxMine. Before joining the ORI, Alex worked as a Rapid Prototyping Engineer at Myriota, where they developed algorithms for satellite communications software.

Alex also plays the bass guitar and drums, and enjoys woodworking and board games.
