Biography

Oliwier pursues a DPhil in Engineering Science at the University of Oxford where he is a member of Mansfield College. He joined the Dynamic Robots Systems group at the ORI in October 2018, investigating low-level robust motion control methods for dynamic quadrupedal robots, such as ANYmal, that encounter complex topologies and disturbances.  His supervisor is Dr Maurice Fallon.

He graduated with a BE in Energy Engineering (2012-16) and completed his MEngSc by Research (2016-18) at University College Cork (UCC) in Ireland. As part of his master’s degree, he worked on advanced control of inertially-stabilised platforms under Dr Gordon Lightbody.

He was a summer intern at Tyndall National Institute working with Prof. Peter Kennedy’s Circuits and Systems group. He gained valuable industrial experience while working for Moog, a motion control systems company.

Outside of academia, Oliwier is passionate about sport and enjoys being involved in clubs.
