Anson Lei

Student - A2I

Anson joined the ORI in 2021 as a DPhil student via the ELLIS PhD programme, co-supervised by Prof. Ingmar Posner at the Applied Artificial Intelligence lab and Prof. Bernhard Schölkopf at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems. With a vision of making robots intelligent enough to do his chores, he is interested in the ways through which robots can understand the world via observation and interaction. His current research interest lies in the intersection between robot learning and causality.

Before joining the ORI, Anson received a Master of Engineering Science degree at the University of Oxford, where he worked on optimisation methods for neural network verification with Prof. Pawan Mudigonda. In his spare time, Anson likes to dabble in a few musical instruments and is very slowly getting better at chess
